About this blog(ger)
About me: I'm 27, married, and the mother of an adorable 18 month old boy. Before I had my kid, I didn't care too much about what went into my body. As long as I felt full I figured I was good to go. After the birth of my son on April Fool's Day in 2012, my husband and I took an interest in healthy eating so we could be our best for our son and teach him good eating habits down the road. We were both shocked to discover how great we felt with our new diets (and I was shocked to lose 40lbs with minimal effort--I'm currently the lightest I've been since high school!).
About the recipes: At the beginning of my diet transformation, I couldn't get the idea out of my head that healthy food = tasteless and bland food. This was before I learned that healthy food doesn't necessarily mean "calorie deficient", it just meant I had to start looking for fresh, untainted ingredients for my meals--and it turns out this is what the best meals are made from! These days I find all sorts of recipes (or conjure up some of my own) for delicious creations that I am happy to share with whoever is willing to read :)
About the tableware: When it comes to my recipe ideas, sometimes the food determines what dishes I use and other times the right ramekin can inspire a whole meal. I'm pretty darn lucky because I work for Fortessa Tableware Solutions where there is an endless supply of inspiration. I love being able to just walk down the isles in the outlet store and brainstorm ideas for the next meal. I enjoy pairing tableware to meals for optimal presentation. Perhaps that's the artist in me ;) The great thing about the right dish is even if you spent only 30 minutes in the kitchen, the way you present the meal can suggest you slaved for hours.
